Sock Sanity got me in the mood for quick win projects and I had caked up a skein for one of the socks that I ended up not using. So I decided to hunt down a pattern from my library to play with the skein of Dubai Knits Faith, Hope and Love (merino/silk) in the colorway Daenerys. I settled on the pattern Haleakala by Cookie A, which is named for a Hawaiian volcano. Ergo the project name!
The pattern was fun, quick, and addictive! There are two versions of the foot but I opted for the Twisted version that uses cleverly placed decreases and increases to bring the ribbing into a V pointing to the toe. The ribbing on the back of the leg also ensures a really good fit. Overall I really enjoyed this pattern and the elements it weaves together, and I'm very pleased with how the yarn and pattern work together!
