Inveraray Castle is the hereditary home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of Clan Campbell. The tartan of Clan Campbell is the historical inspiration for the argyle pattern found in this shawl.

With a top-down triangular construction, a wide center-panel cable is echoed by the cables and lace on the outer panels.

This pattern contains both written and charted instructions.
