I've gotten a couple of months behind on my FO posts, but I'm happy to share this project that was a little outside of my wheelhouse, but I'm super happy with how it turned out. This is Irish Knit Poncho by Adele Huey McCall (available on waybackmachine) using Berroco Vintage.
I say this pattern is outside of my wheelhouse because it's knit with worsted weight yarn, which is way heavier than I normally use, and the construction and fringe aren't my normal jam. The reason though - this was a request from my mom for her birthday, and it turned out so absolutely beautiful it was not remotely a hardship to step outside of my normal comfort zone! The cables are gorgeous and the different panels of texture come together beautifully. The fringe was even fun to do! The construction was two long rectangles seamed together cleverly so that the poncho shape drapes nicely. My mom was super happy with the result as well!
