FO Alert: Azriel Shawl

I have a tendency to preplan many projects in advance, and this one has been in my queue since I bought the yarn. You may remember that a couple years back, I knit a shawl inspired by Cassian from Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Ever since, I've been looking for the perfect yarn and pattern combo for Azriel, to round out my ACoTaR inspired shawls. Well my dear friends at Evergreen Fiber Works came up with the most beautiful blue and named it Azriel, so of course I had to jump right on that one! I selected the pattern Dark Wing by Romi Hill to pair it with, and I recently finally was able to get to this planned project!

The crescent shaped shawl pattern wasn't going to use up as much yarn as I was hoping, so I decided to make a few modifications from the original pattern. Rather than doing a short-row crescent shape then adding the lace edging, I opted for a crescent-triangle hybrid shape for the solid body part. I also extended the lace section by repeating one of the charts to make the wings part significantly longer.

The edging on this shawl is absolutely beautiful, and I always love a loopy bind-off. The pattern and yarn combination is so perfect for the inspiration, and I'm happy that finally Cassian and Azriel are complete! Both of these shawls are for sale in the shop - Cassian and Azriel.
